Have you been there? Have you had an issue that you have been dealing with, but have not gone to God about it? Have you felt like, He has more major things to worry about in the world like this world wide pandemic, or other world affairs? The thing is, in my journey, I have numerous testimonies of God showing up for me, even in the smallest things. My friends do too! He has shown us time and time again that He is, “Intimately acquainted with all our ways” (Psalm 139:3) and that, “He cares for us” (1 Peter 5:7).

Are Movies Causing Stalking?
My personal experience is that the world has been kinder to me being a woman, than it has to me being a Black woman (see my post on this if you have any questions). Yet and still, there are certain precautions I naturally take without even thinking about it when I am out and about… Continue reading Are Movies Causing Stalking?
Thoughts on a Thursday
There’s a woman’s blog I enjoy reading b/c she is a poet. In one of her posts she shared about serving so much at her church and being so drained from it. One of the leaders at the church told her that “Of course you are drained, you are a poet.” As a poet she… Continue reading Thoughts on a Thursday
Things I wish I Could Say
I wish I could tell you how much your anger hurts me. It unleashes so quickly and easily, whipping lashes at the nearest person, successfully creating lasting scars, much like slaves received years ago. I received so many lashes myself over the years and didn’t even realize it. They weren’t physical but they were verbal… Continue reading Things I wish I Could Say
The Unlikely Guest
I walk into my kitchen with the intent of heating up some water and mixing it with a package of chocolate powder to get warm and satisfy my sweet craving. But I stop short quickly when I see that he is there. He is there and she is there, but it is him that surprises me because he… Continue reading The Unlikely Guest
Friendship: Betrayal, Forgiveness & Reconciliation
This weekend I attended a doctoral graduation ceremony out of state. The car ride was 6 hours long and my mom and I faced an additional 1 1/2 hour delay due to a four-car accident. Rumor had it there was a semi involved. Even though I didn’t see the accident I know it had to… Continue reading Friendship: Betrayal, Forgiveness & Reconciliation
Love & War
There are life circumstances that can deeply affect us without us even knowing it. They can shape our interactions with others and our perception of reality for the rest of our lives. As I continue to grow and mature, I’m learning about such circumstances and the wounds that ensue from their occurrence. Understandably, when my… Continue reading Love & War
Valentine’s Day: From a Single’s Perspective
Well it’s that time again…V-Day. Every year it catches me off guard. I know there are many singles who dread the approaching holiday year after year and it’s on their radar as early as January. There are many who cringe at the various business advertisements pushing their product of flowers, candy, and the standard teddy… Continue reading Valentine’s Day: From a Single’s Perspective
Our “Stuff”
A good friend of mine (one of my best friends) has been facing extreme resistance to her authority in the workplace, even to the point of outright disrespect. Being a minority, young, and female is challenging enough in the corporate world yet sadly she is facing this in ministry, so her opposition is coming from fellow… Continue reading Our “Stuff”
