The Fight For Good Education

Education was the ticket for me and it grieves my heart that our system is set up to advance only those who are privileged enough to pay for it.

Even in, quote on quote “public schools”, there is still a fee.

The only ones who could attend, were the ones whose parents had the money to pay the rent, oh excuse me, the mortgage, to live in those districts.

But what about those who value education enough to apply themselves? What about those of us who work hard and love learning and will do what it takes to get to the top?

Even if we have a starting point that is further behind our peers.

God is Concerned About You

Have you been there? Have you had an issue that you have been dealing with, but have not gone to God about it? Have you felt like, He has more major things to worry about in the world like this world wide pandemic, or other world affairs? The thing is, in my journey, I have numerous testimonies of God showing up for me, even in the smallest things. My friends do too! He has shown us time and time again that He is, “Intimately acquainted with all our ways” (Psalm 139:3) and that, “He cares for us” (1 Peter 5:7).

My Church Was Silent- Guest Post, by Esperanza Gallon

I remember the time I was stirred from my sleep by the sound and sight of a young Black man being chased by a mob of white male students while being called the N-word, and the entire year when bricks were thrown through Black students’ apartment windows. There’s even the time when a brick was thrown through the window when I was working as a crisis hotline counselor because I would not support KKK propaganda while taking a hotline call. I lived in fear as a student there.
