Psalm 42: My Soul Longs for You

Last Saturday I woke up in the morning to the presence of the Lord. I heard two very distinct lines of scriptures: “Deep calls unto Deep” and “As the deer pants for the water, my soul pants for You”. It is rare I hear the Lord so clearly. I lay in His presence and soaked up this intimacy. I then looked up those lines of scripture and found they were both in Psalm 42. I was delighted. I had no idea and yet this was confirmation that I was hearing the Spirit of the Lord. I then kept hearing a song, “My Soul Longs for YOU”. I looked up the song and downloaded it. I played it over and over again.

Fast forward to this past weekend. I attended a dance workshop by the Lord’s leading. I knew I was to attend as He had been stirring up my desire to dance. I kept asking Him “What door will You open for me regarding this? How am I supposed to be using this gift for You in this season?”. I have received many words regarding dance but have been frustrated at the lack of fruition of His promise. But in truth I have not been a good steward over this gift as I have neglected it in my one-on-one time of worship. I knew He was saying I needed more training in dance and so I went to the workshop with the desire to receive more training and to sow into the ministry that was hosting it. God exceeded my expectations.

The women who led the workshop were amazing. They were humble and their hearts were pure before the Lord. They only wanted His glory. They wanted none for themselves. I was in awe of the revelations and insights God blessed them with about dance in the Bible. I was blessed by their understanding of His word and the need to dig deep into it. And then, we learned our first dance. And guess what song our first dance was to? “My Soul Longs for You” by Jesus Culture. The very song I had been playing nonstop all morning before the workshop. The very song Yeshua gave me the weekend before. I was floored. “Lord! I am definitely supposed to be at this workshop!!!” I cried in my heart. I couldn’t believe He was going to give me the privilege to dance to this song when I had already been so ministered to by it. I just love when He gives confirmation in that way :-). So we danced and it was wonderful. Afterwards we had lunch and more teaching and then the women prayed over us. They laid hands over our feet and I just agreed with the will of God over my life. “Father, I have no idea what You have for me in this regard, but I agree with it. I agree with however You want to use me in dance”. And then we danced again, initially we did the choreographed dance we had learned but then the minister of music began to play as the Spirit led, prophetically. And so we let go of our choreographed moves and moved with the Spirit of the Father. I dropped my streamer and gave in to the movements coursing through my limbs. We were worship. And afterwards the spirit of the Lord began to speak words of prophecy through the Pastor. God spoke that He would dance with us. That we were His dancers and that our desires would come forth through our dance. And then a worship leader shared that the minister of music saw the heavens opened above us as we danced prophetically for the Lord. I was done. God gave so much confirmation and affirmation in this area and I so needed it as I had been very frustrated and wondering what His will was regarding this. But now I believe He has given me instruction that I intend on following through on.

There are many gifts and talents Christ puts inside of us to manifest Himself in the earth. I pray He reveals to You your gifts and talents. I pray that You are equipped and trained in your craft and being a good steward over these gifts.

So often I get distracted by circumstances. I lean unto my own understanding and become discouraged by what I see. But I know He has told me to hide myself in His intimacy. To focus on His eternal Face so that even if my circumstances do not change, I will be changed. My true eternal self will manifest. I believe the same for you.
