This week I attended my first business convention and I will never be the same. And even though it was my first, I have a strong inkling that this convention was unlike any other. Speaker after speaker shared about their success and how the Lord had led them to this opportunity to obtain financial freedom and security. I couldn’t help but worship during each workshop as we were trained and equipped to be leaders and give God all the glory while doing so. My heart was overwhelmed and in awe, so much so that I finally broke and wept into my mentor’s neck as the 2nd workshop ended.
She understood and returned with an embrace of her own.
The presence of Holy Spirit was so evident, how can one possibly not become undone? (Isaiah 6:5) I had the privilege of taking a picture with an older woman who is not only a 6-figure income earner through this business but happens to be a Minister as well. During her talk, she encouraged us to seek God to know our purpose on this earth, to love ourselves so that we are able to fulfill the 2nd commandment, and to not settle for anything less than greatness b/c that is what we are due. All of this at a business conference! We surrounded her after her talk and she encouraged single women to know their value and not give themselves to just anyone. To in fact, wait for God’s best. I listened intently.
One of the women I roomed with put it well, we were being encouraged to be successful and obtain wealth, but we were also encouraged spiritually. They were hitting us from every angle and we were enclosed in a cocoon of positivity for three days straight. Greatness and prosperity on the outside, the spirit of the Lord working His way in us on the inside.
It was intense and beautiful.
There were 60,000+ people in attendance. We took up the Georgia Dome in Atlanta and at one point, all hands were raised in worship. I couldn’t have asked for anything more. The Hawaiian dancers and fire works at the end were superb, but even those events did not compare to being in the midst of so many believers, brought together by a corporation.
For so long I’ve known my call in business was to manifest Christ’s kingdom in corporate America. Now I know that I’m not alone. I’m surrounded by people who do not just teach financial freedom, but they preach financial freedom. Their businesses are used as a platform to give them godly influence over others. I’m so excited to see what God does through this new business opportunity and what He will build through my hands. Both in the natural and in the spirit.
