In Good Company

Yesterday was a great day.  I woke up early enough to get in a 2 mile run at the gym.  The snow was deep but I was determined to make the drive and get my workout on.  Instead of the treadmill, lately I’ve been running on the indoor track located on the 3rd floor of the gym.  It’s a lot better than playing mind games while running in place, staring out the window, going nowhere.  It’s way easier running on the track too as I’ve been running 10 minute miles and usually I run 12 minute miles, especially outside.  I felt God’s presence and pictured Jesus running on my left and the Father straight ahead.  I knew Holy Spirit was showing me a picture of this spiritual journey.  Christ will bring me home to my Father and is running with me every step of the way.  Selah.  I made it back home, showered and got ready for fellowship (church).  There were only a couple of us as some were sick, some were on vacation, and some had other obligations.  We’re a small group as it is, so to miss members really affects the group, but I was determined to worship anyway, reminding myself that God was there and that’s pretty much all that mattered.  And boy was He there!  I felt His presence in a way I haven’t felt in a very long time.  He moved in the prophetic (1 Corinthians 12:10) and personal ministry through the very few of us who were present.  The love of each member was flowing thick right along with His Word which was being shared.  We are truly a family and He is unifying us to be the effective Sons of God the earth is groaning and waiting for (Romans 8:19).  I’m honored and touched to be apart of this group and to be an intercessor for this city even though in all honesty I have tried many a times to leave this part of my calling.  But God encouraged me yesterday that He is there with me and these people are in this walk with me.  I am not alone.  Once fellowship ended I had a surprise lunch with a brother in Christ.  We shared in what God was doing both individually and corporately.  It was something I had wanted to take place before, but my motives were questionable.  This time though, my heart was fully surrendered to the Lord and that’s probably why He allowed it to happen.  After lunch I was both full from the food and from the fellowship.  I picked up my good friend from the airport and was glad to service her in this way, as she so often freely gives of herself for others.  It was nice to return the favor.  The remainder of my evening was spent dialoguing with my Cincinnati BFF about my trip to see her tonight for New Years.  I feel God has made my heart sensitive to the richness and value of the fellowship of believers in this season of my life (Psalm 133).  Even with the 20 degree weather, my heart is warmed by those who Christ has sent to walk with me in this season.  I’m looking forward to tonight’s drive with my girls and even more to New Year’s Day which will encompass a brunch with someone I greatly admire and shopping for a dress for a gala I’ll be attending in a couple of months (more to come on that).  I hope you and your loved ones are safe and have a blessed New Year’s Eve!  As much as I’ve tried to not get “caught up” in the hype of a new year, I must admit there are a few events on my calendar that I’m looking forward to.  2013 just may surprise me….

 Key Scriptures:

Psalm 133:

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
For brethren to dwell together in unity!

It is like the precious oil upon the head,
Running down on the beard,
The beard of Aaron,
Running down on the edge of his garments.
It is like the dew of Hermon,
Descending upon the mountains of Zion;
For there the Lord commanded the blessing—
Life forevermore.

Romans 8

19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.

1 Corinthians 12:8-11

for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.
