Body Ministry

One of my most favorite things to do in the whole world is to minister to God’s body.  Probably the thing I enjoy the most and am most passionate about is worship.  But after that, I just love to minister to God’s beloved.  On Sunday I was blessed to participate in corporate ministry to a specific individual in our fellowship.  We were in the midst of following our agenda and proceeding with the lesson we are learning from when someone stepped forward and said “Stop. We need to pray for “so and so”.  And we did.  We stopped doing what we were doing and laid hands and stood in agreement with God’s will for that person’s life.  And it was BEAUTIFUL.  I was so grateful that someone was so in tune with Holy Spirit that they knew that a member of the body was not doing well.  It was truly a demonstration of God’s heart for each and every part of His body.  No part is unimportant.  And I just love when He stops EVERYTHING to shower just that one person with His love and show them just how important they are!  Little did I know later on that day, He was going to give me an opportunity to serve even more.  I was presented the opportunity to bless someone monetarily.  Right before making the decision to do so, I quickly asked God to be in the midst of the situation.  Because in truth, I barely knew the person I was going to give to, and yet I felt Holy Spirit say “you know them by the Spirit”.  And it was that simple.  I knew them by the Spirit.  So I lent the largest dollar amount I ever have in my whole life to anyone and showed the love of Christ.  I was honored and still am that God would use me in that way to show His goodness.  We are truly made one for another and no person can stand alone, especially in this walk with Him.  He is tri-part and intra-relational and has made us in His image.  Unfortunately, often the enemy comes in and divides.  We are easily offended and push people away (even as I write these words I am guilty of this behavior).  Satan knows that division is the best way to ensure victory on his end, because if 1 can put 1000 to flight, 2 can put 10,000.  We are 10x’s more powerful when we work together and stand together.  I pray for the body of Christ, that she remembers that she is the bride of the Most High and that she conducts herself accordingly in love, demonstrating His love for mankind.

  1. Amen. Like you, I LOVE to worship and I equally LOVE to minister to God’s people as well as to those who don’t yet know Him. I praise God for using you this weekend. Be blessed Sister!

    Love,
