One thing you want to accomplish/experience in life:

Interview Questions:

What does the word “overcome” mean to you?

It means for me to gain victory, to reign or to have authority over.

What was one or more life event(s)/experience(s) that proved to be extremely challenging/difficult?

When I gave birth to twins and one suffered life threatening trauma during the process.

How did you “overcome” this life event or experience victory upon its culmination?

Prayer and meditation upon the Word of God was the foundation of my victory. I also equipped myself with information and surrounded myself with people who were supportive and could offer sound spiritual and professional advice.

How did that life event/experience change you? How did you grow as a person in your world outlook and character development? In your faith?

It solidified my ability to trust God on a daily basis and my level of expectation for even the smallest of things, elevated. I grew as a person because I was challenged to face people who were trained in their professions and considered authorities and remain composed and determined to see my son go beyond their prognosis of his future due to his initial diagnosis. As far as my character in general, I became more assertive and unmoved by negativity.

If you did not have that experience, how do you think your life would look now?

I would probably be faced with something more challenging now that I’m some years older.

If you did not overcome that experience how do you think your life would look now?

I believe I would be resentful and self-blaming.

What are tips you can give to others who are experiencing similar difficulties? What helped you to overcome your life event/experience that may help them?

Stay connected to God and to a community of believers who will encourage and inspire you.  Don’t blame yourself.  Get information.  Everyday imagine the challenge is over.
